Necessities officially cost more…

I read an article found online, confirming what most of us already knew was going to happen or have seen happening.

The Canadian Consumer Outlook Index was released, Bank of Canada governor Mark Carney warned in a speech that agricultural product prices are much higher since the central bank’s interest rates last went up in September, and food prices will continue to rise.

You’re already struggling to make ends meet. All of your dollars have somewhere to go. It’s now going to cost more money for the necessities in life leaving you much less money for the wants.

The survey released by Royal Bank on Wednesday suggests Canadians are looking for ways to save as they grapple with gas prices that rose 29.5 per cent in May alone and food prices that grew 4.2 per cent that month.

All the extra money your putting towards your credit card payments (if you’re only making the minimum payment, then you’re only paying interest and very little towards the principal; meaning you’ll be paying off those credit cards for pretty much the rest of your existence), could in fact be used to make your life a little easier, easing your mind and making buying the necessities feel like less of a burden.

You shouldn’t have to be torn between buying food for you and your family and paying off debt. There should be no need to go to a payday loans company to get money to fill up your gas tank because you used your pay cheque to pay bills and buy food.

You should, however be able to live a stress free life, buying the necessities and not worrying about grabbing an extra loaf of bread for the house when you’re grocery shopping. You should be able to put away a few dollars for your future; we’re all getting older. It’s time for you to invest in yourself and live life without worry.
